Template Pack: Mini-zines
A downloadable template pack
What is this?
A pack of mini-zine templates for Affinity Publisher, plus supporting files like fonts and examples! Mini-zines are tiny booklets made by cutting and folding regular sheets of paper—they're super simple to make and share (see the first picture for examples).
What's in the pack?
A whole bunch of mini-zine templates for:
- A4 and letter print sizes (in metric and imperial units respectively)
- portrait and landscape orientations
- generic and Trophy Dark incursion types (Trophy Dark only in portrait)
All the templates come with custom text styles and table formats, and the generic templates also have page masters and written explanations!
Besides the templates themselves, the pack comes with a readme file and the fonts used in the built-in text styles (all free for personal and commercial use). What's more, it comes with the .pdf files for my reversible mini-zine game Banned From Argo as an example of a finished lo-fi game that shows how both portrait and landscape mini-zines can be arranged for printing.
What about their licenses?
The templates themselves are released under the CC0 1.0 public domain dedication—they're voluntarily in the public domain, so you can freely use them in personal and commercial projects without attribution.
Everything else in the pack comes with their own licenses, which you can find in or packaged with the files and summarised in the readme. However, you can freely use them in personal and commercial projects as long as you follow the license conditions!
The print instructions are in the public domain, where they were released under CC0 1.0. That means you can freely package them with personal and commercial projects without attribution.
What about some examples?
For examples of mini-zine games made using these templates beyond Banned From Argo, check out my mini-zine games The Eldritch Ecstasy of Detective Dog, this person should not exist, and Drowns the Sky:
